Bike tour – the Pyrenean Mountains
This bike tour is designed for those who love mountains, cool turns, mountain serpentines and certainly magnificent mountain landscapes! In this route you´ll visit the most beautiful corners of Pyrenean Mountains in the territory of Spain, France and Andorra, get relaxed and enjoy with SPA and thermal waters. Do some shopping in duty free Andorra, see the best Gothic architecture and certainly try best traditional cuisine of the mountain regions!
1st Day. Transfer and arrival to hotel 3-4 stars in Laredo (Bilbao or Santander), then presentation of documents and route planning. Welcome dinner.
2nd Day. 400 km. The day comes over in hotel of 3-4 stars Arette, France.
The route will take place along the border of Spain and France which we will cross several times in search of cool bends and tremendous mountain landscapes. We´ll have alunch in Saint-Jean-Pied de Port. After lunch we´ll enjoy fascinating bends on the route between Saint Jean and Larrau´s peak, then some cool descents in a valley of Roncal and increase to the most beautiful peak of Pyrenean mountains – Piedra San Martin. More views of great mountain landscapes and then we will begin another descent by the cool serpentine on the way to Arette town. On the route there are 5 stops for pictures, snacks and lunch.
3rd Day. 240 km. The day comes over in hotel of 3-4 stars in Vielha.
Day of dizzy ups and downs we will begin with La Marie Blanque mountain top. Having gone down to the Bielle valley, again we will begin climbings to the most picturesque peak of El Aubisque. This piece of the way is difficult but the views are worth it! Our route will pass also through the peak of El Tourmalet popular among bikers and cyclists of the whole world! We´ll enjoy magnificent panoramas then do a cool descent to Bareges to have lunch. After lunch we´ll go to the legendary tops of El Portillon, El Aspin and El Peyresurd. The day will come over in the valley of Aran with tremendous landscapes. On the route there are 7 stops for pictures, snacks and lunch.
4th Day. 150 km. The day comes over in hotel of 3-4 stars in Andorra.
The route will begin going up to the Bonagua top. Further there will be a cool descent to Sort, a village its good luck and “the gold witch” for winning several times the main price of national lottery. After several cool descents and liftings, we will stop in Seo de Urgel in Andorra where we will spend the rest of day; it’s the best place for to buy bikers products in Europe. Also Andorra will offer you different types of leisure. On the route there are 2 stops for pictures, snacks and lunch.
5th Day. 60 km. The day to enjoy in Andorra.
This day we will devote to relax and entertainments and certainly we won’t forget about our bikes. Amazing route between Encamp and Naturlandia won’t leave anybody indifferent. Races from the mountain of Tobotronc, 5 km high, become the highlight of the day. After a lunch fans of SPA may relax with thermal water. Visiting Caldea and el Tobotronc aren’t included in the cost of route and are paid separately.
6th Day. 330 km. The day comes over in hotel of 3-4 stars in Jaca.
We leave beautiful Andorra and we continue to submit Pyrenean mountains’ peaks. Excellent roads with cool bends and serpentines become our satellites of this day. We´ll visit dizzy canyons Añisclo in Ordesa valley. In the evening we´ll arrive to majestic Jaca where we will get acquainted with its monuments and Gothic architecture. On the route there are 5 stops for pictures, snacks and lunch.
7th Day. 400 km. The day comes over in hotel of 3-4 stars in Laredo.
The route will pass on beautiful valleys of Hecho, Anso with cool serpentines of roads. We´ll visit Zuriza´s ancient glacier doesn’t leave indifferent anybody! Further we´ll go through mountain roads of Navarra and visit of its medieval capital Pamplona, the city is known for its fiesta “San Fermin” and bulls’ run through the city streets glorified by Hemingway! Further we´ll stop in ancient Vitoria, the capital of the Basque Country which was called by Hugo “the ideal Gothic city”. After a lunch we arrive to Laredo – the final stop of our route, the city well-known 6-km sandy beach. The route comes over with a goodbye dinner and some souvenirs detail for participants! On a route there are 4 stops for pictures, snacks and lunch.
8th Day. Breakfast in the hotel, organizational issues and a transfer in the airport, or you might go on your own route.
